Rankin Strategies is led by Kristyn Rankin, a strategist and advisor with more than 30 years of experience at the intersection of business strategy, policy, sustainability, products and global value chains.
Kristyn's perspective has been shaped from both sides of the table. As a Partner with global sustainability consultancy ERM, she advised companies navigating complex business, policy and sustainability challenges. In-house at Apple and Dell, she held strategy and compliance roles focused on translating changing regulatory, market and resource conditions into business decisions and action. Across both consulting and corporate roles, she has represented business interests in global policy and regulatory negotiations, bringing firsthand understanding of how policy is shaped — and how it ultimately affects business.
Her work today draws on that breadth — the independence of an advisor, the perspective of having been accountable for decisions and implementation inside complex global organizations and firsthand experience at the intersection of business and policy.
Some clients come to us before making a major investment or entering a new market. Others are responding to emerging regulation, rethinking a product or packaging strategy, building a more resilient materials system or trying to understand what a changing external landscape means for their business.
The question may begin with EPR, PFAS, supply-chain risk or circularity. It may end somewhere much bigger.
We tailor every engagement to the context surrounding the decision—not to a predefined methodology.
